SESSION A9
Session A9 are Adam Sutherland, Brian Mcalpine, Charlie Mckerron, David “chimp” Robertson, Gordon Gunn, Kevin Henderson and Marc Clement.Over the years Session A9 have been described as a “Scottish super group”, “The best band to have come out of Scotland in 100 years”, “Tighter than James Brown” and an “Amazing Festival band”, great praise indeed for a band formed through informal music sessions up and down the arterial Scottish road, the A9, culminating in their first ever tour in 2001.June 2009 saw the band embark on an ambitious 16 date tour entitled "Session A9 and Beyond", a tour they were able to achieve with funding from Tune-Up Scotland. They were delighted to have special guest, Daire Mulhern, a fantastic button box player from Ireland joining them on the tour.

Mr McFall’s Chamber
Mr McFall’s Chamber is an adventurous group of musicians – by and large string quartet, piano and bass. We frequently add percussion to this mix as well as welcoming a number of vocalists as guests.
The aim of the group was always to break down barriers – by mixing genres, by playing outside the concert hall, by being less stuffy, by building bridges between different musical traditions and between different art forms.

Gerry O'Connor and Donal O'Connor
One of Ireland's most respected traditional fiddle players, we were fortunate indeed to have Gerry and his son Donal come to perform in Beauly.
"Sparkling" " Immaculate" and with "Dazzling Ability" were words used recently by the national Press to describe the music of Gerry O'Connor, one of Ireland's most outstanding fiddle players. His family has played fiddle for at least four generations and Gerry is able to draw on this wealth of music learned from his mother Rose O'Connor and also from hand-written manuscripts passed down through the family.

Jiggery Pipery
Their new album further develops their unique style and distinctive arrangements, ranging from haunting slow airs to pulsating and driving reels, pipe marches and hornpipes, mostly composed by James Robertson. The chemistry of the band mixes Robertson’s distinctive 60 years of highland pipe playing, learned from his famous father, Pipe Major "JB" Robertson with the hard core, driving drumming of ex Boomtown Rat, Simon Crowe. Blend this with ex. Waulk Electrik bassist Peter Bingham, fiddle playing from Carl Allerfeldt, the cittern of Tony Bayliss and you have an exciting and listenable concoction of highly charged Celtic Funk.During the past couple of years Jiggerypipery have earned a well deserved reputation for being a dynamic and exciting live act, as seen at many venues throughout the UK.

The Lush Rollers
From "The Daily Texan" after a gig in Austin, Texas
This folk-country-rock thing has become pretty big recently. Seeing the success of Ryan Adams' solo career, Pete Yorn, and David Gray, it can be assumed that America has latched onto this genre as an alternative to the choices offered by popular radio. But you don't need to be an American to make this type of music. For the past two years, the Lush Rollers have been quietly crafting melodies that are just as accessible as anything we here in the States can make. With their recently released first album, Who's Driving, this Scottish band shows their American influences with faux country songs like "Out of the Wood," where lines like "I ain't rich, but sure am pretty," seem to be robbed straight from KVET. Even if you're not a country fan, this band has a wide range showing fine melodic capabilities on "You Don't Know" and "Telephone."
